We picked the hammered brass version and it fits right in next to our sofa. The metal has a really nice hand worked look, you can see the little dimples all over it which gives it so much character. It stands about six feet tall so it fills that empty corner without being overwhelming. The shade we added is a big linen drum and the light coming through in the evening is just lovely, warm and soft, perfect for reading or just sitting with a glass of wine. We use the dimmer on the socket almost every night, super easy to adjust the mood. Cords blends into the wall behind it, not an eyesore at all. Very happy with this purchase, looks way more expensive than what we paid.
