We have an old house with thick plaster walls and these sconces sit beautifully on either side of the fireplace in the sitting room. The stone glows a warm honey color when the bulb is on, and even when the light is off it still looks lovely because the calcite has this milky translucent quality. We picked the iron finish since the rest of the room has darker metal accents and they match perfectly. The size is just right, not too big and not too small. I wipe them down once a week with a soft cloth and they still look brand new. Such a quiet, classy addition to the room and exactly what I hoped for.

We installed one of these on each side of our bed in place of old table lamps and I am so glad we did. The warm light through the calcite is gentle enough for reading at night but still bright enough to find your way around the room. I love that there is no bulky shade, just this slim stone slab held by a simple iron frame. It hangs vertically so it does not stick out into the room at all. The size is compact, around ten inches tall, which works perfectly on the narrow wall space between the window and the door. Wipe it down with a dry cloth and it looks fresh again. Honestly one of the best little upgrades we have made to the bedroom.
