I have been searching for a tall floor lamp for ages and finally settled on this one for the spot beside my reading chair in the living room. The brass base is substantial and looks really high quality, and the linen drum shade is just the right size to throw light over my shoulder when I am reading at night. I went with the polished nickel finish because I wanted something a little cooler toned and it is very pretty in person. The X frame detail on the base gives it a nice sculptural feel without being over the top. It was easy enough to put together with my husband, just a few simple steps. The lamp is tall enough to clear the back of the chair and short enough that it does not overpower the room. It has become my favorite corner of the house now.
