Bought the smaller size for our powder room and it looks just right in there. The alabaster shade has subtle natural streaks that you only really notice when you get close, which is part of the charm. Installed two of these in our upstairs hallway and they look really nice. The stone shade has a soft warm tone when lit and the brass frame matches our other hallway hardware. They give off just enough light for the corridor without feeling harsh. The size we chose sits well on the wall and does not crowd the narrow space. Our electrician did the install since it needed to be hardwired, and everything went smoothly. The alabaster has natural variation which I think makes it feel a bit more interesting than a plain shade. It has been a few months now and they still look the same as the day they went up. Put two of these in our entryway and they completely changed the feel of the space. The alabaster has this soft, milky glow when the light is on, almost like a piece of warm stone lit from inside. We went with the brass finish since the rest of our hardware downstairs leans warm, and it ties in nicely without trying too hard.
